Kyocera consolidates its fineceramics business in Europe

In the future, the existing European fineceramics business will be combined in the new KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH.

Kyoto/London, 15th September 2022. Kyocera, a leading global manufacturer of fineceramics components, will consolidate its European fineceramics business. In doing so, the fine ceramics units as well as the production sites in Mannheim and Selb will be combined in an independent company under the roof of KYOCERA Europe GmbH. In addition, the existing high-turnover fine ceramics business of KYOCERA Europe GmbH will also be integrated into this new company. The company will carry the name KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH. Armin Kayser, Dr. Carsten Russner and Kazuhiko Mishima will be appointed managing directors who together bring along many years of expertise in fineceramics technologies. This is the next step in the company’s longstanding growth strategy.

The background of the restructuring is the growing European sales market for fineceramics components. Through the acquisition of H.C. Starck Ceramics GmbH, a Germany-based company specializing in non-oxide fineceramics components, Kyocera gained its first production facility in Germany in 2019. The acquisition of the ceramic operation of Friatec GmbH, a manufacturer of ceramic and plastic components, in the same year added a second production site. Kyocera has thus been able to expand its product line-up with oxide and metallized ceramic components in Europe.

The consolidation is the next crucial step in Kyocera’s growth strategy

As demand continues to rise, Kyocera is now taking the next major step by consolidating all fineceramics business activities into KYOCERA Fineceramics Europe GmbH, one legal entity with from now on 2 production sites in Mannheim and Selb and 5 sales offices in Esslingen, Neuss, Mannheim, Selb and Stockholm. The company will be headquartered in Mannheim.
